LAI New York Chapter held its first in person meeting (since covid-19) at Fordham University. Our guest speaker was John Grillo from Rich Energy Solutions Company. John spoke about the utility and energy managements components of the NYC real estate that can be enhanced to reduce expenses and also to comply with local law 97 which becomes effective in 2024. There was spirited discussion as to the economics of the proposed law and the impact on the financial viability of the NY commercial real estate market as well as the NYC tax base.
