On January 22, 2025 we had the distinct honor of hosting Tom Devaney, Senior Director of Land Use and Planning, at the Municipal Art Society of New York (MAS), a venerable organization instrumental in shaping and preserving the New York City that we know today.  As a leader in urban advocacy, Tom has played a critical role in protecting the city’s historic landmarks, promoting thoughtful urban design, and fostering a vibrant public realm.  Tom shared invaluable insights into the organization’s work, from its efforts to safeguard NYC’s iconic skyline to championing sustainable development and equitable public spaces.  His talk highlighted the importance of balancing preservation with progress, ensuring that New York remains a dynamic, livable, and inspiring city for generations to come.
